PROJECT BACKGROUND

With the release of Avengers: Infinity War, Insomniac’s Spider-Man, and Into the Spider-Verse, 2018 was undoubtedly the year of Spider-Man.

To commemorate some of the amazing Spider-Man content that was released (and to build up hype and anticipation for 2019’s movie), I combined the cinematic world of Marvel's Spider-Man (films) with the original soundtrack from Insomniac's Spider-Man (game). They work wonderfully well together, and the trailer serves as both a snapshot overview of the character, and a teaser for what’s to come next.

Naturally, working with finished films means not having access to audio splits—so this was not only an editing exercise, but a sound design one as well. All of the footage was sourced from 3 different movies, but almost none of the audio was actually usable (due to them being fully mixed with background music and other effects). To solve for that, I rebuilt nearly all of the audio, using recorded sounds and stock effects. It was a fun exercise, and you’d be hard-pressed to tell that it’s not official!
